The certification auditor will ask the following regarding monitoring and measuring resources in ISO 9001:
- How the organization determines and provides the necessary resources to ensure valid and reliable results to verify the conformity of products and services and are suitable for the specific type of monitoring and measuring
- How the organization ensures that the monitoring and measuring resources provided are maintained.
- What are the records retained by the organization to evidence that the monitoring and measuring resources are properly maintained.
- If the organization calibrates or verifies measuring equipment, which national or international measurement standards are followed.
- How the organization safeguards its measuring equipment from adjustments, damage, or deterioration
- How the organization takes appropriate action when measuring equipment is found unfit for its intended purpose.
