ISO 27019 standard provides guidance on the implementation of ISMS controls for energy companies. It is officially called “ISO/IEC 27019 Information technology — Security techniques — Information security controls for the energy utility industry.”

This standard is important because it explains how to apply security controls in the context of processes that can be found in energy companies of any type - electric power, gas, oil, heat, etc.

The latest revision of ISO 27019 is from 2017, and is called ISO/IEC 27019:2017.
